I HAVE A PERCOM DATA DISK DRIVE AT88. IT IS A SINGLE DENSITY
DRIVE. I HAVE IT HOOKED UP TO A STARNDARD SHUGART DRIVE
ALSO. THE CONTROLER FOR THE DRIVE ALLOWS AN ADDON SLAVE DRIVE.
SINCE PERCOM IS OUT OF BUSINESS, I NEED TO GAIN SOME INFO
ON UP GRADING THE DRIVE TO DOUBLE DENSITY. THE UPGRADES
AVAILABLE FOR THE 810 AND 1050 ARE NOT USABLE WITH THIS
DRIVE. PERCOM HAD ADVERTISED IN OLD ISSUES OF BYTE AND COMPUTE
ABOUT A DOUBLE DENSITY DRIVE FOR THE ATARI. I AM WONDERING
IF YOU KNOW WHAT CONTROLER THE DRIVE NEEDS? IT HAS A
WD 1771 FD CHIP IN IT ( THE SAME AS THE 810 ). WHAT CHIP IS
NEEDED TO UPGRADE. DO YOU KNOW ANY ONE WHO MIGHT HAVETHIS INFO

                THANKS
                PETE HALLER

        Try writing directly to PERCOM.
Just because they no longer support
ATARI doesn't mean that they are out of
business. If that doesn't work, try
putting the same question on the Atari
SIG of COMPUSERVE or GENIE. Or try
asking Gary at B & G Electronics (521-
2855). Let's support him: he's the
last reputable Atari store in the
Cleveland area!

         Thanks for asking.
