Subject: VIDEO INTERFACE FOR 1040ST?
Date: Sun Jul 30 08:52:32 1989
I HAVE HEARD THAT THERE IS A SHAREWARE PROGRAM FROM WEST
GERMANY WHICH WILL ALLOW ME TO OUTPUT TO A VIDEO TAPE
DECK MY GRAPHICS FROM MY ATARI 1040ST AND ALSO ALLOW ME TO
DOWNLOAD SINGLE FRAMES FROM A VIDEO PLAYER TO MY 1040ST?
HAVE YOU HEARD OR SEEN SUCH A PROGRAM? THANKS.

"Shareware", by its nature, is
software only. On the ST, the things
you are asking about have to be
hardware; there are NO VIDEO IN/OUT
jacks on your computer. Nor is there
any mention of these functions in
recent newsletters from Germany.
However, there are some
American products you might be
interested in:
Computereyes, a popular
digitizer for the 8-bit Ataries is now
available for the ST.
There is a box available for
any ST with a TV output that taps into
a composite video line to give standard
video out. Note that most 1040ST's
don't have the TV out so this probably
won't help you. I have not yet heard
of any standard video out devices for
the 1040ST's.
Good luck in your search.
