I currently have my 1050 sitting up sideways on its left side to
conserve desk space.
My question: Will this cause any problems?

Thanks.

I don't believe there is a definitive answer to this question. I've heard
people argue against, and I've heard of people running their drives
sideways without a hitch.

There's no fundamental reason why a drive can't be
run sideways - the old Percom drives were designed that way.

To me, I'd rather have a little less desk space than run the risk of damage
to my drive, however small that risk may be.
